Hope you guys can help me out. Was turning right out of a parking lot today and started going up the road, which is on a fairly steep grade. I punched it when it shifted into second and the car really started to pull to the right from all the torque. I looked down and the low trac light was on, so I let off the gas and it went out and never came back on. What the heck happened and is this normal??? :o
Your system is working as designed. You probably picked up a little oil, water, sand or something, causing the wheel to lose a little traction.
Switch off your traction control and you will not get that light, but you will get wheel spin you can feel.

Yeah, its nothing to worry about. I'm surprised you've never seen it before, or maybe you've just never noticed.
Its just a warning that your wheel(*) is in a low traction environment like sand, water, oil, etc. I get it a lot on certain roads due to beach sand.

Can't help but mention, I get a bigger bang from lighting up my SSEi fronts than my '95 Vette rears, although the Vette will leave much longer rubber track.
With the fronts lit up, combined with the torque steer and the enveloping smoke, you feel like you're gettin' 'er done.
Someone on this site has a nice photo of a light-up. Black SSEi I think. Just awesome.
