I finally finished up putting in my new LIM gaskets and everything seemed to go back together real smooth, except now I have a puddle around the throttle body near the front left LIM bolt. The first thing I thought it was, and what the first response here will be, is that it'* coolant. I'm not sure that it is. I've been driving heavy on it since I repaired it, 60 miles a day to school and back, and my coolant level hasn't dropped one bit. I haven't had anything on my oil fill tube since then, and the area around the LIM is dry now. I haven't had any coolant in the oil, even before the repair, so I'm not too worried yet. Anybody have an idea of what else it could be?

Forgot to mention what it is like. It'* about the color of new oil but about as thin as water. It tends to freeze when my car isn't warmed up and melts back down when it is warmed up, but won't evaporate. It also doesn't have any distinct smell.

Can you post a pic of the puddling area? Try to get a close-up of the consistency and color of the fluid.

If it freezes, it'* probably water. Can't think what else would freeze. From where....??? Coolant would not freeze, nor would oil. Maybe just some snow melt on the engine. Does it come back after you blot it dry? An oil skin on top of water would prevent it from evaporating, but you would think the heat of the engine would take care of that. :?

What a relief. I just had it checked out and it turned out to be just be old oil that mixed with water. The only thing bad I found out is that my valve cover gaskets are starting to leak, but that'* not too big of a deal.
