Corrosion in your FOB will decrease your range and battery life as well. I've found little issues inside two of my 4,523 fobs.
Another trick you should try is holding your fob against your jawbone before you hit the button. It works. It'll extend your range by up to double.

i have like 8feet its a PITA!!! i am going to look at those soder points thing and what may have to be replaced to make it work good again?
