For what its worth, bobistheoilguy.com is probably one of the most definitive sites on the web relating to auto oil. That being said I run a K&N cone and while the filter does get dirtier quicker, it does move more air. You need to reoil them on occasion because the oil is what helps stop the dirt not just the fabric.

yes your right about bob, very good info on his site, mainly about oil and how it breaks down, if you havent seen his site check it out, i also run a K&N filter, just dont reoil it too much thats where the problem occurs coating the MAF sensor

Just for the record.... oil not only cleans, it seals, lubricates and dissipates heat. Just my 2 pennies.
