Default Just bought a 2000 SSEI Anything I need to look out for

As title reads. Bought a 2000 SSEI today to replace my old 1992 sse with 236,853 well driven miles on it. This SSEI is loaded with everything you can get on them. It has 50,000 miles on it and got it for $13,000.00

Is there anything I need to watch out for or any know problems with this year? What about the super charger? It runs smooth and doesnt have any rattle but I have never owned a super charged car. Any Maintenace tips?

Thanks

just look out for water leaks, wheel bearing failures and power window failures

since i got it last year: got it at 102000km and now 122000km

-2 bearing($$$) with sensor in
-intermediate shaft
-sensor for steering position(alert:service stability system)
-sensor for wheels speed(need a new bearing because it come with)
-supercharger solenoid(if u get low boost check that)
-tranny pressure solenoid(code:1811, hard shifting, slipin when downshift)
-misfire code(caused by the supercharger boost control solenoid)
-2 evap code, still dunno what its exactly, but dealer told me its not dangerous
-sometime on A/C the climate control shoot warm on passenger side and cold on driver side. (i dont care, i run window open)

front motor mount , you might want to make a soild mount to help limit engine movement.
my soild mount has over 75k mi. with no problems.

You will want to look out for slower traffic... they tend to get in the way. j/k

Hope you enjoy the new car.

In addition to what has already been listed:

1. Transmission troubles: several of us have had the tranny die before 60K miles. They wanted to charge me $1700 to replace it, but I appealed to GM and got it covered no charge.

2. Front wheel hubs. I've replaced three of them so far (one twice). Cost: $450 a pop.

3. Intake manifold gasket has a tendency to leak...some worse than others. Repair cost: about $900 or so.

4. Annoying backlight bulb failures in the instrument cluster and radio. Repair costs: $50 -$300.

FYI, I would get your supercharger oil changed. With good lubrication it shouild be fine.

I had a 93 SSE that ran great forever. Put 200K on it, and finally replaced it with my current 2000 SSEi. I've spent more on the SSEi than on all 4 of my previous Bonnies combined. Hope you have better luck!

Don't forget about the Torque Convertor Control (TCC) valve failures. When the tranny gets hot, the valve leaks resulting in hard shifting...just a bad design. There are kits out there that replace the TCC valve with a better one. I need to get that done to mine soon.
