Take a meter and check for voltage at the socket. Sounds like you may have a wire disconnected somewhere in the harness.

Check for voltage. Had a tail light on my wifes van that didn't work. I changed bulbs and it worked fine. But the bulb I had in first didn't work in that socket. Some times the combination of the bulb and socket just don't work. Also check for corrosion.

it was a fuse , i did check before just not the right fuse. there is a fuse that says headlamp lowbeam and there is a fuse that says hdlplobl ( i beleive this is how it was abreaviated ) it was that fuse. didn't know that there is a fuse for both lowbeams and then two seperate fuses for each lowbeam

I'm having the same issue on my 2003 lesabre custom. I'll hafta check that out. Same deal, I went to replace the HID and nothing. Tried multiple HID'* and ballasts and nothing.
