Guys and maybe gals,
Intermittently when I turn the key on my ignition, the accessories will come on, but the car will not start. The starter does not engage and there is no actions at all. i have found that if I pull the car out of park on the shifter and move it to neutral, then back to park and try the ignition again, it will start. It appears that I have an intermittent issue occurring with the shifter possibly......is there a correlation between the two?

What do I need to do to resolve this problem?

Sounds like you did most of the diagnosing already.

Next time it won't start, move the shifter to N and try to start it there. The car should start in either park or neutral all the time. It is possible the shifter linkage or park neutral safety switch is out of adjustment.

Issue is not consistent. If I put the car in neutral or park, it still does not alway want to start. Also for additional information, some times in the winter when it is cold the security problem screen will come up on the information center. Could the ignition switch where the key is put be going bad?
