1996 SSEi ignition key problem
Hey forum, sup guys.
I lost keys from a car, went to GM paid 50$ to have them make another one got home and it wont turn. Ironically though, before i left GM, i was told that the only reason it should not work is if someone already changed ignition lock and that its not of original. Now, i have no idea if it was indeed changed. Is there a way to tell? or is it possible they did a mistake?
If NO for both, then have any one of you ever changed Ignition key lock thingy on the steering? if so, do you mind sharing important steps? thank you!

Another reaon for it not to work is that the cylinder is worn down as was the old key. Somethines wire brushing the key further to remove the sharper edges helps.

Well before you go messing with the airbag unhook the battery and turn the headlights on..weird i know.Let it set that way for ten minutes. Then you are safe to unplug the airbag but be very careful i have a few steering columns laying around ill pull one out and do a pictorial on how to replace it tomorrow
