ignition faulty?
New guy here. I own a 2000 ssei Bonneville (which I love) which has had several of the common (sticky) issues but just yesterday I was surprised by a new one.
The car had been turned off 20 min prior to this. I inserted the key and turned it right, slight delay in dash lights and guage check, continued the turn to start and the lights/guages/computer turned off...complete battery kill it seemed. No start, not even click. Checked the park, re-tried. Same exact thing. We have a remote starter and as some twitch in installment, if you press the door lock twice on the DS door the car will start, which it did. Can't touch the brake or will kill engine. When gauge check is going on, the DIC reads Service Stability System. This morning after battery disconnect still same situation.
I am wondering if the remote starter is the fault (remote key stopped working one month ago battery new) or the ignition. It seems similar to the silverbullet thread but for the ignition to kill the lights and guages??? Any ideas?
I apologize for any poor posting behavior. First ever try on any post and what an enjoyment it is. If any issue let me know.
