Default high pitch whine

Ok here'* the question. It might sound wierd and like I'm stupid but just hear me out. I have a supercharged bonne and it'* got a high pitch whine but it'* not the supercharger. If it was it would be awesome but I popped the hood while running and revved it up by hand and it sounds like it'* coming from the underneath the air intake hose. I have no clue what it could be. Could anyone help me?? Thanks

It may be coming from the transmission. Check the fluid level, as well as the color of it and if it has a burned smell to it.

This could be as simple as a vacuum leak. Get in there (safely) and check around for leaks or obvious visible items. If that exhausts, use some throttle body cleaner to spray around the various air intake areas and vaccum lines. If the idle changes..you find your leak.

Transmission is a possibillity, but what can make a high pitched whine at idle?

My transmission has been shifting hard sometimes. I put some sea foam in it and I'm gonna change the fluid this weekend. It smells funny too. It'* not burning oil or antifreeze either. Just smells like something is hot and it smells really wierd. Is my transmission possibly going bad??

It'* shifting hard, smells funny and you decided that something seemed wrong and added seafoam.

I'd guess it'* a possibility that the trans could be having an issue. Best course of action to check this would be to have a transmission shop or dealer diagnose the trans. Many places will do this for free.

it doesn't shift hard all the time just some of the times. Actually lately it hasn't been. Once the high pitch whine started the hard shifting stopped. I think I'm going to change the fluid myself first and I'll see if it'* still doing it after that. I will call a shop around me and see if they can check it out though. thanks a bunch

Actually.. Have you checked the fluid level? What is the condition, color and smell of the fluid?

Being that you added the Seafoam, is the transmission seriously overfull now?

actually you know it could be to full. The color isn't quite red anymore but it isn't brown. I do know when I've changed fluids in the past on other cars it almost black since it hasn't been changed in a long time. I would say it'* almost blackish redish. Could the whine come from being to full?? It just smells like something is hot or burning. maybe transmission fluid burning. But I really don't know what that smells like.

I'm far from an expert on a transmission. However..it is possible to cause issues by over or under filling.
