High beam HID DRL question
So I have been kicking around the idea of putting in HIDs for my high beams in my 2000 SSEi. I have had the lows in for a couple years now and probably will never drive a vehicle without converting to HID. My question is does anyone know if the DRLs will work if you put in HID highs or will they just stay off till you turn on the high beams, and if anyone has them in their car, how long do they seem to last if you limit flashing the highs? I currently have one high and no highs cause the cold winters in MN seem to kill my Silverstar bulbs every year. Getting sick of changing bulbs every winter when its -15 out and HIDs have come down in price so much they are cheaper than the silverstars I keep buying anyways.

I don't know of too many people who run HID'* in the high beam spot for a multitude of reason. DRLs being one of them, flashing being one, and the other that I know of is because the high beam would be useless for a couple seconds while bulb warmed up.
You'd be better off just disabling the DRLs and running regular bulbs in the high beam spot. That'* what I did and it works great.
