I've noticed the 2005 Bonnevilles now use the low beams instead of the high beams that the 2000-2004'* used. Does anyone know a modification or a reprogram that can be performed to convert older years to the 2005 setup?

There are no known modifications for this, also re-programming is out of the question as it is not a programmable function. It would all be in hardware (wiring& relays) re-configuring. I'm not saying it can't be done, however you are looking at alot of surgery and wire switching. I'm assuming you have a 2005 Bonneville? What trim level?

No a 2004! I'm assuming that it is a BCM reprogram, possibly using a similiarly equipped 2005 VIN#, as the BCM is the same for 2000 to 2005 & that is what controls the DRL'*, to my knowledge at least!

Well, this is a very brief description of DRL as we know on 2000-2004'*. The ambient light sensor determines daytime/nightime condition, if daytime, the DRL relay is picked up via the Dash Integration Module DIM. The DRL relay places the high beams in series by switching power & ground, each high beam dropping half voltage. When ambient light sensor determines nightime condition DRL relay drops out, high beams turn off. Twilight Sentinel takes over to turn on the lowbeams & rest of exterior lighting. In normal high beam operation, the high beams are paralleled through the high beam relay and have full potential across them. Hope this helped a little. To the best of my knowledge, there are no programmable functions here regarding the DRL, Twilight Sentinel or low beam operation.

Would you not rather have the high beams used for drl'* since they are used less often. If your low beams were converted I would think they would burn out faster since they would be used for both daytime and nightime driving, therefore 50% more use (even if at half brightness). I'd stick witht the high beam oem configuration.
