Default heater Switch is cranky...please help, its winter.

Hey guys, my friend has a 2003 SE, and her heat only comes on certain posistion on the switch. Is this a common occurence? Is it a simple new switch, or is it related to the fan?

TIA.

What switch? The fan speed or vent selector?

Does she have automatic climate control, or manual? There are two main components involved here depending on which type system she has. Manual System: HVAC Control Module, Blower Motor Control Processor, these two modules combined control speed changer function. Auto Climate Control: Instrument Panel Integration Module (IPM), Blower Control Processor, these two components combined control speed changer function. Does the blower turn free by hand? Check all connectors at blower & control modules at the passenger side hush panel.
