Front End Noise

The inside portion of the intermediate shaft has 2 flats on it. It slips inside a sleeve, and is held in with a bolt. Your only real choice is a 180 degree change. As you may already know, but just in case, a word of warning. Do not change the position of the steering wheel. If that is changed, you're likely to destroy the SIR coil and/or the steering position sensor.

Update. Still chasing the noise in the front end of my Bonneville. I was able to get the new "stuck on" CV shaft back off and put the original equipment shaft back on. The noise is still there. Took it in today to get the front end alligned and the mechanic told me that he has replaced front bearings before only to find that the new bearings made noise. He recommended that I remove the "new left front bearing" and put the old original back on and see if the noise changes. Has anyone here ever experienced this? The noise is difficult to describe but sounds most like a squeeking body mount. It only makes noise if the car is rolling and rapid steering inputs to left and right. I guess I'll put the old hub back on and see if anything changes. I replaced the right hub bearing 7weeks ago and then the left 1 week ago. Both sides came from the same supplier.
