Wierd noise in front end , and ABS question
This is the first FWD car Ive ever owned and worked on , so some of the trouble shooting kinda puzzles me . About the front end noise . I just swapped a transmissions . I put a lower mileage 4T60e with 45K in my car . Ever since then , Ive had a vibration in the front end over 65 mph and this past its got a noise to go along it . The noise is most prominent between 30-50 mph , but you still hear it at all speeds just not nearly as much . It is progressively getting a little more noticeable over the last week . The only way I know how to accurately describle the noise , is , it sounds like your driving on a brick road ...just not as loud . If that makes any sense . I know I got all the various mounts bolted back up correctly so Im clueless . There only one thing I did that possibly could have caused a problem . When I took the pass. side axle shaft out , I did have to tap on the large portion of it ( the part of the axle shaft right before the transmission) with a hammer to get the axle shaft out of the trans . I didnt hit it hard , but I did hit it . Could that possibly have caused a problem ? Any ideas would be appreciated . Another helpful thing to know , is the trans I bought was from a bonneville that was in an accident . It shifts perfectly though . Could there possibly have been internal damage to the differential ? agaiin, I dont know a whole hell of alot about a FWD trans . FWIW it was worth , there was no vibe or noise before I did the trans swap .
Problem 2 - ABS light intermittently comes on and that causes the PCM to lock out the traction control . When these ABS units fail , will they intermittently not work . I say that because , the ABS and TC will always work as normal like the first 10 minutes of driving the car . But , after awhile the ABS always light comes on and the it wont work anymore until I let the car sit for awhile . This problem popped up about a week ago .
Hopefully someone has some answers . Thanks

Smacking the CV like that shouldn't have caused anything. Sounds like a balancing problem.
2 sounds like an intermittent wheel speed sensor, Check the electrical plugs on the front hubs.

so you put a 4T60-e instead of a 4T65-e? or is that just a typo? I hope not
does the replacement trans have the same drive ratio? There are differences between the 4T60-e (partly electronic/partly hydraulic) and the 65-E( fully electronic)
I think that your TC/ABS could be caused by the WSS
