I'll also mention that when I run my "manual DRL'*" I'm usually on a longer trip. 95% of the time I'll be on the highway with the cruise set, so the HUD isn't critical at that point.

I disabled my DRL'*, but i drive with my fogs on all the time as my DRL'*. As soon as it stays warmer out, i'm going to re-wire my fogs so that they're not tied in with the parking lights so that only my fogs are on as DRL'* in the daytime and not the parking lights.

maybe you could run a jumper wire to the fog lights, Tap in to the fuse block where the headlight DRL is........make a terminal and use the factory DRL Relay to power them

That wouldn't power them at a lower voltage though, would it?

Running fogs when it isn't foggy is annoying to other drivers I don't think they are meant to be used any other time then when it is foggy. I don't under stand why anyone would not want the DRL'* on for safety?

Stock foglights are pure crap when it comes to fog anyway. My projectors have a cutoff so as not to shine above horizontal. They almost look dim to other drivers, yet illuminate the road just fine.

Honestly, I don't think stock fogs being on is any more distracting than DRL'*. Sometimes DRL'* can be somewhat blinding. Again, it'* all about the OPTION here.

It wouldn't work properly and dillcc, you're mostly correct. Yes it would power the fogs, but they would be dim just like it makes your high-beams dim.

I'm just going to cut the wires to the fogs, put terminals on them so they can be easily switched back to factory mode, then run a wire inside to a switch that i can control the fogs manually. Wish the original switch could be used, but it all runs off negative power and i don't know sh*t on how that all works.

You're the first person i've ever seen that said it'* annoying to run fogs when it isn't foggy. You're speaking for a whole lot of other drivers that have never said this. Anyways, it doesn't matter what lights are used for DRL'* does it? No it doesn't and it'* not even a requirement to have DRL'* in the USA as it is required in Canada. It doesn't matter at all whether the DRL'* are the fogs (like the H2 and H3) or whether the DRL'* are turn signals or high-beams. Lights are lights and they provide more safety if they're on during the daylight no matter what light is being used.
