Did the Bonneville ever have this?
I'm curious if any of the last generation of Bonnevilles had a feature where you could just flick the ignition key and the engine would crank until it starts. I ask because our SSEi and SLE do not do this, but my Aurora does. You can just flick the key to 'start' quickly and let go, and the engine will crank itself until it starts. I have included a clip to show what I mean. It'* really a cool thing and I always forget when driving other cars that they don't do that and I have to hold the key on 'start' until the engine fires up.

BTW, the engine doesn't start the first time because of a safety feature, I have the gas pedal to the floor. (so that the engine doesn't start and you can see it continues to crank for a second after I let go of the ignition key.)

Heck, my rig doesn't have that feature. I have to hold that thing over a few seconds before she fires. I should schedule a tune up at the Bonneville Mod Shop up in Enfield.

I don't know if mine has that feature built in but in practice, it feels like it. This car, despite its many faults and lousy quality, is by far the best and quickest starting car I've ever owned. It only takes maybe 1/2 second touch of the key and the engine is off and running.

You know what? Mine is quick too....didn't work the first time, but the 2nd time it turned over immediately. It was so fast though, that I can't say that the engine "continued to crank" after I let go...the real test will be in future days when the temp drops more....we'll see then! Of course, my battery is coming up on 6 yrs old too....so it will be interesting to see if she keeps cranking on her own....
