Default Cruise Control

I am purchasing a 2001 Bonneville SE at a to good price after my 1999 Buick Le Sabre (lived 15 years of it'* life in the rust belt of IL.) decided to rust threw and one of the few issues that I can fix I hope is my Cruise Control on the Bonneville. Sense the Le Sabre is a really close year I am thinking of trying to see if they are exchangeable has anyone already tried this and I know the Cruise Control likes to go out after reading a lot of these threads. Thoughts I am open to suggestions.

Nerd,

Welcome to the forum. I don't think you will be able to swap out the cruise control. The 2000-2005 cruise control is integrated into the turn signal and I think it uses electronics to do its thing. You might want to research if someone makes an aftermarket cruise control for your Bonneville.

I think the biggest issue is finding out why the cruise control is not working on the Bonneville.

I just took a quick look on RockAuto, and it looks like the only thing interchangeable between the two cars is the module itself, everything else is different between 1999 and 2000.

Thanks guys for the heads up, One could hope that it would work but I figured there were a lot of changes done in 2000 that I just was not sure.

Just double checked my fuses it looks like the previous owner tried doing the same thing and so I'm doubtful that will work when I go to work today but one can try. If it is the module how can I test that to see if that is the problem? As that is a lot more expensive and if I can get my old Buick one over somehow and just pay for labor as I am not that talented.
