Default Crank Sensor

Hello,
I just replaced my crank sensor on my 2001 Bonneville. Now it will not start. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Plug the sensor in

Not that I'd be talking from experience (thanks Tony)

Default Plugged

I did plug it in. Just checked again to make sure. Before I changed it the problems were; a miss, the tach would occasionally drop to zero and a check engine light. The code was for a crank sensor. I changed it without a hitch. Went to try it out and it just rolls and rolls.

Darn..so much for the easy fix.

Ok.. have you checked the wiring and the connection at the ICM?

OK Worth a try. Just looked and it seems ok. Do you have to do some computer tricks when you install a new crank sensor?

Round two. Re-replace the switch. Luckily I'm in good at the parts store and they will give me another one. %^$#%^&*

I assume it didn't start still?

There'* no trick. the sensor tells the pcm when to fire. You did check the ICM connection right?

There is no obvious reason as to why if you removed and reconnected the sensor that it shouldn't work unless the balancer isn't on far enough to be read. (which should be visible in the belt patth.) or the wiring got hurt/nicked.

The 'swap' went off perfectly. The only problem was getting the right length 6mm bolts to pull with. I'm 100% sure the balancer went back on right. The wiring looks perfect. I even went to the 'good' part store and got the 'better' switch. No bargain part. I'll post after the second swap.

Ok..

I'm going to ask for the third time and never again

Did you check the connection at the ICM?
