Bill has a Wbodystore IC core, they drilled the hole in the core in the correct place, so Bill has a working PCV, just like me.

My friend Chris has the same core as you and I believe he does not have a working PCV, but I could be wrong. He is running a breather on both valve covers.

If you do need to drill a hole in your new covers, just use a grommet, that will make it look nice and clean. You will just want to make sure you drill in the right place, and not right above a rocker.

In that case, what if I get this machined LIM LIM

That should line up with my intercooler and make the PCV work correctly right?

I think I'm also going to end up getting this Reservior Kit This would clean things up a lot.

That'* the same port job I did on yours. Go back a few posts and look at the one I posted of 5 different LIMs. I believe it'* the lower right LIM is the S2 LIM. You will notice a small grove, I think they even point it out.

So when ZZP says the intercooler will work with the factory PCV system, that is only if you put the groove in the LIM, it doesn't actually line up...

Is Bill'* IC custom then as far as having the PCV hole in the right place, or did I just buy the wrong IC? (Bill answered this in an earlier post I see, that'* how it came)

Are you running with the groove in your LIM?

**Edit: Now I think I'm starting to understand.

You guys are both running functioning PCV systems and a breather?

Perhaps I need to specify a bit. I don't care at all whether the PCV functions as far as emissions is concerned, I just want my engine to run right, perhaps I was giving the wrong impression.

So, with that noted. The correct way to do this would be to have an IC core like Bills, and to run a breather as well if your getting into the higher power range. But since I already have my IC, it would be acceptable to groove the LIM for the PCV and then run a breather, tuning for the vacuum leak?

Another option to make a fully functional PCV is to put the grove in the IC core. The reason it'* such a small grove on the LIM is because there'* not much material on the LIM to put the grove. But the IC core is a big block of aluminum. You could mill in deeper grove and get a near stock flow. You can then match the gasket to that grove and your all set. Chances are you will see a nice dark circle on the core where the hole comes up on the LIM. Again, I really can't understand why it wasn't done that way in the first place.

As long as they matched up, couldn't I groove the LIM and the IC? Make a shallow groove in the LIM and a deeper one in the IC.

You can do that, as long as they line up. I would suggest trimming the gasket to match that, and then use a little red RTV around that to seal it up. It it'* not sealed it could leak. Sawgunners gasket was leaking oil from the PCV hole to the intake.

Nobody listens to me.

Tom.. put a breather on or put a hole in the valve cover cap for that pcv valve type that Dan has pictured. Simple, quick and done.

ZZP'* core to me is not an ideal design because it'* two pieces of metal sandwiching the core. Mine is a solid chunk with the core slid into it. This facilitated them drilling the PCV holes through it.

If you groove your LIM you will be thinning the metal in that area. If you groove your IC core, you will probably render it worthless and have a problem because of the thickness of the metal.

You really only need one pcv on one valve cover. It makes sense to me to take a standard factory cover cap and drill one into it. Then you need no new gaskets etc and the problem is solved. Heck..with that breather you have now..the problem is solved.

haha, thanks for setting us straight Bill.

This all stemmed from the fact that I still have this.

I'm perfectly fine running a breather on front, I actually ordered a real one last week to replace this one that is gorilla taped on. I just need to find out where the gunk is coming from and was under the impression that not having the PCV functioning could be a cause.

I'm still planning on a coolant pressure test to rule that out, but as of now the coolant hasn't budged, it'* still just over the full line. I'm hoping that one of these days after a cleaning, it'* just going to stop forming.
