I've heard about the ASE chip and it is suppose to be the best for Pontiacs.
Can you explain on how and when you feel the performance difference, how did you measure improvements? I'd like to get a chip but if you're like me I don't believe everyhting I hear. I like to hear solid proof and results/reviews before buying. There'* too much BS out there like all the fuel savers that suppose to double milage.....
let me know,
thanks

You must be. I will email you the directions we got and explain what you have to do. There are 3 settings, and you DON'T want it on high.
I E-mailed you the instructions on my Intense kit. Any feedback ??

Silver- I got my intense shift kit last week, after reading the directions, I say the kit only has one setting for the 4T65E-HD version.

Quote:
"The INTENSE™ Street/Strip Shift Kit is designed to give you crisp shifts under light to medium throttle positions, and very firm shifts at wide open throttle. It is not designed to rip your dashboard out, break your input shaft or destroy your transaxle drive chain."
Quote:
"There are two basic settings, depending on whether you have a 245 mm. (stock in 4T65E transaxles) or 258 mm. (stock in 4T65E-HD transaxles) torque converter. This kit is by far the most comprehensive shift kit on the market for our transaxles. "
So I fugure that it'* not adjustable. It'* the perfect blend of street/strip. I Bet that at WOT it will be pretty firm, if set much firmmer would probably cause damage over time. BTW anything is adjustable.

Unfortunatly, The next couple of weekends are booked, so install wont be fro 3-4 weeks. Hopefully nothing will come up and I'll be able to attempt to install my first shift kit with my old man. Going to his school and throw my baby up on the lift and go at. This weekend I've got a stereo Comp. and girlfriends B-day, 23. And Next weekend on vacation and Stopping by dbkt2'* for 3.4 pulley swap. Can't wait! So shift kit is in the box for now.

When are you doing yours? Maybe we whould start a **** kit thread.

I got the e-mail, but I haven't had time to reply to it yet because I went to an amusement park with my friends and checked the e-mail right before I left. I cannot find the directions to the thrasher shift kit, I have looked through the stack of instructions that we have, but I can't find it. It must've gotten trashed. I will try to find the directions on ClubGP or on the thrasher site or something. I know it has to do with which spacers you install. More of the spacers is a firmer shift, less is a softer shift. Maybe install the kit, and if it shifts too hard for your liking pull out a spacer or 2 and see if it is any better? I was told the INTENSE was supposed to have 5 settings, which is the only reason why I would ever recommend it to anyone, but apparently that is not the case. Maybe the thrasher kit is better. But, I guess I would just put it in, and if it is too much for your liking pull a spacer or 2 out. The gaskets should be reuseable if you are careful, so that shouldn't be a problem. It will just cost you the cost of the tranny fluid.

I will do some more looking for the thrasher instructions, and if I can't find them I will get online and see what I can find.

That sounds like a very good idea.

Mine will sit in the box for now. I'm in no real rush. Still only 21,000 kms on the Bonne......but it has seen almost 4 summers now.....maybe I'll do it next month.

Let'* keep this thread going to keep each other updated.
