no option. You have to pull your ecm and send it. It cost me $11 dollars to send it 2nd day air through the mail. They keep it for a maximum of 2 days and i had them send it back 2nd day air fed ex. I sent it out on a monday and it came back the next monday. If you are willing to spend a little more you can get it back quicker like using overnight air. the total bill sent back to me was $379 dollars (put on credit card). Easy to install? I just pulled my ECM, put it in a box and sent it out. It came back and i just plugged it back in.

OH NO
I really didn't want to hear that.
My Thrasher shift kit just arrived and I was planning to replace my Interceptor adjustable transmission pressure controller with it.
It looks like a decent kit with new accumulator springs to give a variable shift response.
I am also planning to get the ASE computer chip installed at a later date.
Are you guys really sure that I can't use the shift kit with the ASE chip :?:
The shift kit will not modify the shift points and the kickdown response.
If the ASE chip will also do the exact same thing that the Thrasher mechanical kit does, then it is a much better mod.

Maybe I just bought another boat anchor.

You can use your shift kit with the chip. The DHP PCM does the same thing, increases line pressure giving you quicker and crisper shifts. Only it doesn't do it as much as the interceptor. If you put in the chip, and took out your interceptor, I can almost guaruntee you that the tranny will shift much crappier. Put the thrasher shift kit in on medium, and then get the chip later if you want, it isn't going to hurt a thing. Unless the chip raises the line pressure a large amount (which would be a stupid thing to do to the chip) it isn't going to hurt it at all. The chip is just going to raise the line pressure enough that you can actually feel when the shift is.

You can never have an electronic shift kit that does the same thing as a mechanical shift kit. The electronic shift kit is going to raise line pressure, but it has the raised line pressure all of the time so you always get hard shifts. With an internal shift kit, your shifts will be harder the harder you step on the gas. I.E. if you pull away normally from a corner you probably won't even feel a difference from the stock setup, but if you put the gas down 3/4 of the way you will get a nice crisp shift, and if you go 100% throttle you will get an even more crisp shift. With a line pressure adjusment (electronic) if you pull away from a corner normally, you are going to get a very crisp shift which is too crisp for just driving normally, then when you get on the gas more (75%) you get a crisp shift just the same as before, then when you go 100% throttle you will get a shift just a little crisper than before. (Barely noticable) It basically shifts the same at any throttle position, but just a very little bit harder at WOT. An internal shift kit is much more pleasant, and much easier on your tranny.

The electronic shift kit is going to raise line pressure, but it has the raised line pressure all of the time so you always get hard shifts.
Won't this override the lower pedal pressure shift from the mechanical shift kit? If you have both, wont you always get whichever is applying the hardest shift? I think setting the thrasher on high with the chip would be a bad idea. Medium may be ok but im not expert here.

EVER setting the Thrasher on high is a bad idea. I recommend setting it on medium basically no matter what your mods are. On a completely stock car high will chirp the tires shifting into 2nd gear, it is WAY too hard on your tranny. Medium is perfect, and every once in a while will chirp the tires going into 2nd if you really get on the gas hard, so it is just about perfect, as hard as it can be without braking the tires loose.

We have the shift kit set on medium in the GTP, because see we like having a transmission.

What are you guys talking about :?:
Medium or High setting.??
The Thrasher kit comes with only two choices and one set of 5 springs.
The two choices use different length spacers between the springs, but the same springs.
One if for the 4T65E and one for the 4T65E-HD.
My SSEi has the 4T65E-HD, so I only have one choice in settings.
The instructions that came with the kit are quite explicit with color photo'*.
Am I missing something???

You must be. I will email you the directions we got and explain what you have to do. There are 3 settings, and you DON'T want it on high.

Thanks. The directions don't say anything about different setting except between the HD vs the non HD 4T65 E.

Oh. My mistake. I don't have the Thrasher shift kit. I have the Intense shift kit from ZZP.
