Default Changing tires... (update..INSTALLED with PICS)

Im gonna change my tires on my SSEi,

Im wondering if some 245/55 R17 will be a lot heavier than original 235/55/R17?

I want wider tires but if i lose power from it ill stay with 235, depend how much it can hurt performance.

Any idea? :?

For any amount of weight you gain, you'll still be able to put more power to the ground with wider rubber. Handling will improve as well. I say go for it, man!

Thats what I'm thinking about going with. Will they fit with out any problems. I know that the 255/50'* are about the same height as the 235/55'* but ate like a inch or litle more wider.

alot of us with the 17" wheels move up to 255/50-17 tires.
i had 65k on my Michelins (235/55HR17) darn good tire , just wanted a wider tire and the BFG'* G-Force T/A KDWS only set me back $132.00 (US) a tire. the BFG'* have the same treadwear rating (400) as the Michelin'* so i hope to get about the same mileage. the 255/50-17 tire has the same diam. as the stock tires just a little wider. the car looks good with the wider tires and they dont rub at all, GM should have offered the 255'* as a option. 235/5517 are the stock size for the 17" wheels. 245/55-17 may be to tall. my MPG did drop by .4 mpg on the highway but the car handles WAY better with the 255'*.
get the 255'*.

Just come back from a place to look at price, the only make he found for 255/50 R17 is Bridgstone Fuzion.
Wich look like that:
http://www.1010tires.com/images/tire..._fuzion_lg.jpg

238$ canadian each. not too bad considering my all season Goodyear eagle RSA 235/55 R17 cost me 250$ each.

everything with tire balance and 4 wheel alignment cost 1199$.

Anybody know if theres another brand that make it in 255/50R17 ?

edit: found that one too, but to find them here: http://www.kumhousa.com/Products/Ptn...tion=PtnDetail look better in my opinion.
