yeah thats my main reason to wash my car in the winter, to get the dryed up salt off my car and of course to get it looking good again. But i dont spend a quarter of the time washing my car in the winter that i do in the summer. It just doesnt make sense to spend all that time and then it gets dirty again in less then 24hrs.

I'm going to get myself some Optimum No Rinse one of these days. You just put it in water like regular car soap, wash the car, and dry skipping the rinse step. Then I can do it in the garage where it'* not quite so cold.

the roof on my Aurora does the same thing. It really sounds like they use cheap sheet metal on our roofs.
