Smile Cabin Air filter

I could not get the plastic part to fit into my 2000 SE as it did not have on installed. I just set the filter over the fan hole. Anyone else do it this way or am I the only redneck? Is this ok to do? It seems to work ok but I did not know if it could get sucked into the fan...

My first one had the bracket that didnt fit right also. I just "layed it in there" and it did work/got dirty. Think its a "fit many applications one" that alot of parts databases show. There actually is a correct filter that drops down it the hole. Here'* a pic for reference

Its Fram Comfortaire Cabin Air Filter, Part # CF8804. Drops right in the hole

The filter and bracket take a bit of talent and luck to get them to fit.

Where'* Pat, he knows the trick to doing this.
