I can't think of any connection other than maybe the coolant temperature sensor, that would prevent your A/C from working. Does the compressor clutch engage when you turn the A/C on?

I'm still wondering about the gaskets being done twice in 15,000 miles.

I've never checked for that before. Is it simply a matter of raising the hood and having someone turn the A/C on and off?

I was also puzzled about the intake gaskets, but the coolant was draining somewhere and it wasn't on the ground. I still have 12,000 miles left on the warranty so she is going to get babied this coming year when it comes to trips.[/i]

Having someone turn the A/C on and off while you're watching would be one way. If you don't have someone to do that, turn the A/C on, you should hear a click as the clutch engages, and when you look at the compressor, the front clutch plate should be turning.

Are you checking to see if driver and passenger sides are getting cold/hot? If you are getting low on freon, the drivers side will be the first to stop putting out cold air. Also, if you don't have enough freon, sometimes the drivers side will get cold/hot/cold/hot. It will alternate. More than likely, you just need to top off the freon. I payed $20 for an a/c guage that fits on the high side and low side. Just plug the guage into the high side and add a little freon to the low side while watching the guage.

Ok, so the clutch is not engaging, but it IS operational (you can spin it by hand so it isn't frozen up). I popped the under-hood fuse panel and switch the A/C circuit breaker with the Horn circuit breaker (they are the same). Now the "A/C OFF" just says "A/C" but it still blows hot air. I am taking it in on Friday for a freon charge and see what happens from there.

Default A/C OFF - UPDATE

Ok, so I took the car in to the dealer this week. First, the fix.

It turned out to be the low pressure switch. Only a 55 dollar part with another 55 in labor. That'* the good news and a little FYI for anyone else who encounters this problem.

Here'* a question for you all. I bought the car at an Acura dealership and have been taking it to them for all the extended warranty work because of the $25 dollar deductible. When I brought it in this time for this particular issue, they told me to take it to a Pontiac dealer because they have "all the proper tools". Now, looking at the bill I got from Pontiac, basically they just hooked up a scan tool and got a PCM code P0530. From that they were able to diagnose and fix the problem in an hour. What pisses me off is that the deductible for going to a repair shop outside of Acura, I have a $125 deductible. In other words, I was out $90 simply because they told me to take it elsewhere. I don't know a lot about cars but I know even Autozone has a scan tool. Thoughts on this issue or should I make a new thread on this topic?
