The problem with "rust THROUGH" is exactly as I have stated. Sure the sheet metal should not rust through in 10 years or 100,000 miles, but aluminum is VERY different in how it corrodes. They should honor their warranty under the varying circumstances or not even bother to have a corrosion warranty if they aren't going to cover it.

I find it appauling to have a car with under 40,000 miles on it and have paint bubbling from one side of the hood to the other just at the front crimp joining the exterior sheet to the interior structure. And if the dealership won't take care of it, then that is alittle rediculous.

We really need to get some customer complaints rolling on this to get GM to step up.

Will - Where are you?

I agree the alum. hood was a great idea to save weight and all but they obviously didnt factor having to paint it

yeah the dealer told me that bubbling happened because of the primer not being dipped all the way through, which caused the bubbled hood. He said that he had to take in all the factors, miles, 2nd owner, how bad the bubbling was and blah... blahh blah.. he said that the whole thing would cost to fix the bubbling is like 700 but GM takes the hit on cost depending on what the dealer thinks is reasonable.
Im just going to take it to another dealer and see what they say. only thing i can do.

It'* not the only thing you can do. You can file a complaint with GM. Many on the site have done this and have been very successful. I'm sure with the backing of BC.com you will get noticed.

Default Paint Issue

I've had the same issue. Went to my dealership and got told unless its rusted through..they won't do anything about it. Not only that he wasn't even that nice about it....so your saying the best fix is to just call GM and complain....I've got about 82k so i should probably get this looked into. It looks reallly bad when you clean the car and you have bubbling paint standing out. Any help with these issues would be appreciated.
