Not having very good luck there, are you.

I remember a thread a while back where the author suggested drilling some holes in the guides or something to that effect to fix that problem. Was that ever explored?

That was the wood screw fix that keeps the window up but inoperable, I used a c clamp and will eventually get the regulator replaced. These 2k+'* have a problem with the rear window reg'*, lots have been lost and I hope GM is listening and comes through with a recall, or at least a better design?

I haven't had any problems with mine yet.
Do you use the rear window....errr, do the children use them much?

Still 2 years left on my warranty..... :?

Our dealer here refuses to take any action on anything unless they can see, hear, smell or feel a problem.

No one has used the window in the last month, and she was just driving along, no bumps or pot holes when she felt a draft?
When I took the door skin off I inspected for anything obvious, well greased, clean and nothing to indicate a problem?

Guess I'll be ordering another $300+ regulator soon

that stinks, I guess I've been lucky so far too, must be the silver luck.

So the window just falls, hum, I'll be on the lookout.

Me too, that got to see the problem, tried 3 times to get that intermediate shaft replaced, maybe another 3 will do it, ever time I go for service I complain about it, it'* not really that bad, but just want it replaced. Bill it to GM, just bought a 4 year extended 3 months ago.

To add to the intermediate shaft problem that just developed on my 2000 SSEi, yesterday, the right rear window regulator went. Being cheap....er frugal...trying to avoid paying over $300 - I did an online search and came across http://www.buy-oem-parts.com/ They are selling the regulators for $212.02. Shipping is 15% of the total - so, still under $300. I thought that I'd give them a try.

It happened to me on my driver'* side rear window last year. I cringe every time I use my windows wondering if I'll get it again. I bought my 2k in '02 and got a 5 year extended warranty. At least I'll get my money'* worth!

I think they are about $170 including shipping at www.gmpartsdirect.com.

Strange, when I do a search for the window regulator at gmparts direct, it comes up with a part number of 25715741 for $385. If I then enter the 25715741 into their home page, it then comes up with 25750520 for about half the price.
