Default 2002 problems

I had my first 02 Bonnie ruined by hail and just picked up my second Bonnie SSEI (traded the first one). I had the trunk leak problem with it dripping when I opened it on my first Bonnie. Seems the wing is often loose and needs to be removed and resealed. Once they did that I had no more leak. Now I will look for it again on the new car.
I have had a problem on both of my 02'* with a rattle in the passenger door. Sometimes a bump makes it rattle, sometimes just a radio talk show host voice will do it, very annoying and I will be taking it back for them to find it. Anyone else have that on an 02?
My first 02 drove very quiet and sweet. This one is a bit bumpier up front. I wonder if it is the tires or warped rotors. I get a ever so slight pulse on the breaks over 45mph. I dont think it is out of alignment because it steers so straight. It does pull to one side just a little on the brake. I guess I will have the dealership see if the tires are out of balance, are the rotors warped, and the alignment. Anything else that could be making the front end noisy/bumpy like that? I just picked it up two days ago so I know the dealer will look at whatever I ask as long as it is reasonable.

Well.. I would change the T-stat to 180 ( make sure you go to the dealership to pick up the thermostat housing gasket ) since the series II engine is known for all this overheating problem stated above by everyone... I don't know if GM has left the standard 195 T-stat in the newer models since I don't have one ( Demi-god.. this is when you step in and say yes.. or no.. you're on cheap drugs !! ha ha )... yet ....
The trunk leak problem seems to happen to all if not most Bonnevilles...even on my 97 :?

They changed the T-stat in 99 to 180, probably due to the rate of intake failures they were getting called on at the office. The 97-98 had 195.

Coachmeeks,

I've had my 02 since June and I have not had the trunk leak problem yet, or any rattles in the passenger door or anywhere else for that matter. Ive owned many GM'* in the past so I know the rattles and squeeks are coming just don't know when .

I do seem to have a problem with the driver'* side door mirror. The glass seems to vibrate at speeds over 30MPH. Does anyone else have this problem too? It'* a little annoying because it makes it a little harder to spot cops behind me .

Thanks

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has noticed the mirror vibrating. I have an 02 SSEI and I have noticed that at interstate speeds you can't hardly see if anyone is behind you. My husband said that I just had my radio up too loud. Thanks for posting your problem now I know I'm not crazy!

Hey now I know I'm not crazy too. Have you taken yours back to the dealer yet?

My 2000 SE manual states the T-stat is 195. Sure enough, the temp-gauge hovers in the 200 range regularly. Gotta get that changed now....
