Is it possible for an intermediate shaft to rattle/clunk on a rough road going straight if it doesn't show any symptoms during turns?

Thanks very much for the reply. It is a 2004 SE. Please see my yesterday post "Noise in front end" which has more info on the problem. Was hoping for more responses on that one but thought maybe it had too many questions. This seems to have two dealers stumped and is still a warrantee issue.

Steering rack? Column?
