Default Alignment problem?

When I'm driving in a straight line, I've noticed that the steering wheel is turned slightly to the right. Also, after purchasing new tires, I can tell that the outside of the front driver'* side tire is worn slightly more than the others.

My first guess is that the alignment is off. Would this be a correct assumption?

That sounds like a reasonable assumption. Check for proper tire pressure, also.
