Gatorback is far from the best belt on the market, and is overpriced as well IMO. It has less surface area then other belts. We have found that Kelly Springfield belts work very well on the GTP, along with NAPA belts. We would always get slippage on the GTP with gatorbacks. Maybe others have better luck with them, but I can't see how it would be worth twice, and sometimes more, than a regular belt.

Shawn, it'* really not neccessarily only about surface area. The design of the Gatorback allows it to efficiently turn around smaller pulleys without binding, and gives multiple sharp edges for gripping the face of the pulley. Much like tread on a tire.
Even Kelly Springfield slipped on my 2.2" SC pulley. Gatorback does not.

I seem to experience less slippage with this belt, as have used them on two Bonnies. Even during a flood earlier this year, when others in the neighborhood had cars jumping belts in the deep water, my gators stayed on. Not good, I know, but I got trapped and had no choice.
Yet, even though they are touted as the "quiet belt", they whine like a son of a gun. Sounds like a muffled blower or quick change rear-end. Cool to some, but annoying to me.
I guess if I just installed a cat back or just swapped out for flowmasters, I wouldn't be able to hear it, eh?

I'm sure my supercharger would be alot happier with a gatorback instead of the old belt....slippage is bad.
