Default 2002 sle tick noise

hi im new here and everyone seems so helpful here so i thought i'd ask about this ticking noise. i noticed it when my car was running i had to run back in the house to grab something and when approaching the car there was a little steady ticking. is this normal, im not sure, i have 91,000 miles on it. any ideas would be appreciated. thanks in advance
adam.

Could be an exhaust leak. Check over you manifolds, crossover pipe, and down pipe.

Thank you I will check that. If I don't notice anything there, anything else?

Try to track down where the sound is coming from. Front of back, top or bottom, left or right.

Could also be a lifter. Invest $10 in a mechanics stethoscope. It will help you track down where the ticking noise is coming from.
