One thing I notice is that if the top of the shift modulator/accumulator has been dented by the piston, shifts are not smooth. I found that my modulator/accumulator bodies cover had been impacted by the piston on the 1-2 and right by the gasket. I suspect the pressure would build up and then leaked. I replaced the cover and installed the Intense kit and shifts were better and stronger.

If you just remove and dissasemble the accumulator assembly, scotch brite the bores and put new seals on the pistons, you will also see a big difference.
