Ok so i just got a 2001 bonneville SSEI supercharged recently and just started to notice that the breaks squeal when they are applied. I took the tires off to replace the pads but found that they didnt need to be replaced, so i put on the noise dampener silicone type stuff that i got at autozone but it still didnt help . Anyone have a idea on how to fix the squealing, i hear it is common in newer GM cars.

It is probably just the quality of the rotors and pads that are on the car right now. Try upgrading to Bendix premium rotors and Raybestos Quiet Stop pads next time you need to do service.
