No codes, the gear ratio could be an issue, but it shifts all gears like that

No code for incorrect gear ratio is a good thing.

+1 on above, I just went through this, my car had a bad EPC (Electronic Pressure Control) valve too, it eventually shifted hard into overdrive and stripped the 4th gear hub of its teeth, (this weakness was fixed for 2003 and newer) ....here is a link to the transmission thread...good luck.
