Does the car sputter/die when starting/stopping/decelerating? My fp reg went bad and the thing would start soooo hard and run like crap at first because the fp reg was leaking and flooding the engine. It would also just die during long decelerations and while stopped for a while. Other than a pressure gauge, I am not sure how you can check it, but I think I remember something about being able to pull the vacuum line from it and seeing if any gas drips out. Some other member may know for sure.
