He didn't set a check engine light, so that'* why I don't think it'* in a limp mode or something. His boost also flucuates like crazy, which would leed me to believe that his blower isn't turning as fast as it should, hence the tensioner that was loose.

It could very well have nothing to do with the belt, but the bottom line is that the tensioner was loose and there was major belt shavings everywhere. You've got to start with the simple-stupid stuff before moving on to more advanced things. You can't properly align a front end if both tie-rod ends are loose, the steering rack has too much play, a ball joint is about to let loose, a tire is worn down to the wear bars, and a control arm bushing is rotted out. No matter what you do, the car is going to pull left or right. We need to assure that the supercharger is turning like it should.

Since the problem is random, I wouldn't think it would be a fuel filter as a plugged one would be plugged all the time. I mean, it'* probably a really good time to change the filter, fuel filters are the most neglected filter on cars, but I don't think it would be causing the problem. A clogged fuel filter would cause the car to run lean at full throttle, which would cause lean popping or bogging.

The only other way to loose boost (I would think) would be if the computer was dumping boost, but the boost loss was so random, I don't think that'* it (but without a scanner?????? :?

Also, the videos were taken at WOT, which is when the load on the blower is greatest and when the belt would slip. He heald his foot on the floor, and the belt slipped, then grabbed, slipped, etc.

The only reason I say this is bacause something similar happened to my friend a few days ago. Under full throttle, the car would have a momentary powerloss for a 1/2 second, then go full bore, and repeat. Like it was running lean, and there was something major wrong (one of those really, really expensive PITA problems). Turned out, the tensioner was sticky, I lubed it up ($.40 of WD40), and he'* been flooring it around for a couple days and hasn't had the problem again problem.

I remember him telling me about that problem for a month, and I always just brushed it off because I was scared at what it might be, but it was only a sticky tentioner.

Don't want you to change the injectors, fuel pump, fuel filter, ECM, then the supercharger belt was loose.

You opinions may vary.

Plus, the motor sounded fueled properly (not bogging or popping) it just seemed like someone kept varying the throttle (which would be the supercharger slipping)

I guess we'll find out in a little bit here, with the new tensioner on.

Ok I think my vids may have been alittle misleading, the first vid is half throughtl and i came off the gas once or twice because of traffic, and the second vid is WOT beginning to end.

It'* during that nagging up, down, up, down, up down, up, down that you sound like your getting enough fuel, just no supercharger rpm.

IDK, until you test the new tenstioner, I'm just going sit back and watch.

Make sure to give the car a good, long romp tommrow afternoon.

I don't think a bad tensioner would keep the RPM'* from climbing.

SC slippage could cause it to seem like that though.

SC rpms, maybe, but his tach wasn't going above ~3k when he had it floored...
