http://www.intense-racing.com/

Go to INTENSE STORE -> GM 3800 Series II/III -> Induction - Fuel System. It should be the first thing listed.

How much rubber belt shavings did you see? A little film of dust is normal, but if you can push your finger through a bunch of power, your belt was most likely slipping.

It was most likely the belt slipping, then.

Did you get the tensioner on yet? Once you do, tell us if it solves your problem. Hopefully all will be well.

Try this:

Best of luck, and don't forget to post your results.

BTY, I love those wheels on your car. They really make it look nice. And I'm not the huge wheel lovin' kind of person, but they look really good and don't seem like gigantic crome things thrown on to the car.

pit the new tentioner on today, i can definetly tell just by feeling the belt that its got more tention, but onething i noticed is that the ne pully that came with it is 3" and not 3 1/4" like the old one, do you think this will matter (i doubt it but figured i might as well ask )

also the SC coupler, are there other supplyer other then INTENSE that supplys them? (just a curiosity thing, i have nothing against Intense) because there site csays that GM doesnt sell them :?

Pardon my ignorance but how would belt tensioner/belt slip cause where it seems govern at 2500rpm?

I have had busted belt/shredded belt and ran a few times without belt to */c n never that governin affect. The engine should still produce enough power to exceed that 2500 and or rip the belts to shred if it slipped/ held back by some pulley

Since you have already checked most of the things already fpr/coils/fuel pressure. $oing to throw out a few things..fuel filter? I cut open my old one n it was horribly dirty with particles and layers of it. during warm up it commands more fuel. PCM as mentioned? You heard a loud pop, so is it pullin mad KR that its in limp mode? Lots of sludge/carbon built up.?

Are you able to exceed 2500rpm in 1st gear?
