fuel filter is only about 8 months old

Fuel filters and fuel pumps and FPR'* don't cause heat-related power loss.

Peter had a AC Compressor issues on the way home....he needed a New compressor, not sure what happened but it was smoking when they started the car

*that is not related to the WOT problem though

No bypass on a Series1 L67 without custom parts.

I was on the phone with Toasty and Boosty during the compressor issues. They were trying to locate one to install (they were talking by phone with the victim). Anyone know if he got home yet?

Yah "the victim" got home @ 2am (13hours after leaving) I have to make another trip to the states now to RETURN! the new compressor! I dont know why but when its pluged in after a few miles it started to smoke again, so we unpluged it and simply let it "free wheel" but it was throwing metal shaving and now the pullie moves freely on its shaft from side to side, i dont know if and hope its not related to the new style ECC that me and Randy installed on saturday let me know what you think

Last fall my wife'* `02 Grand Prix GT started doing the cough and sputter thing at WOT. It was a plugged CAT. Get it checked out.

ok well i had the new highflow cat and muffle installed as most of you guy know, today i went on a road trip to sarnia and back (ill post the reason in a different tread) and on the triip back it started having the exact same problem that i was with the old cat on. so does anyone have anyother thoughts on the problem?, also i am now having a strang rattling from the exhaust (like heat sheild) but i cant seam to pin point it

I had this exact problem before I got a new pump. No other changes, a new pump fixed it.

but why would that fix it? because while the car was in open loop it ran fine, when using more fuel, but once the car got into closed loop, it stumbled. so i would think if he had a open loop problem then a fuel pump would solve it.
