Default Won't start

I haven't started my car since the crash. Today I went to the Pontiac dealer to get an ignition key. I went to start it and nothing. All the dash lights come on but I don't even hear a click. Any ideas on what it might be? It ran fine just after the smash.

The battery is dead. I was able to get my dash lights to come on because I got a boost. Another guy is coming over tonight to try to boost it again. Should that work? Also would the air bags going off, for some reason cause my car not to start again? Does the dealership have to program my key for it to work? What would happen if it wasn't programmed properly (if they program them)? Sorry for all the questions, I just want to start this thing up. It'* been over a month now.

The airbags going off does not in anyway affect the running of the vehicle as they are separate systems. The key has got a resistor in it and does not need to be programmed just the proper resistance key to be cut.

When you boost the car let the other vehicle run with the booster cables attached to put a bit of a charge into the battery (5-10 minutes) before boosting, that way you don't have so much current running through the cables and the system (seen a few pair of cheap booster cables melt before).

When you tried to start it before did the SECURITY light stay on in the dash? Could be a problem with the PATS (passive auto theft system). I usually wait about 3-4 minutes then try it again and it works (times out).

Let us know about the boost...

With the cables hooked up try to start it and maybe the light will come on. Take the key out of the ignition and keep the door open. Keep the car charging and wait for the light to go out. When the light goes out get in and start the car. If that doesn't work there may be a problem with your key (have you got the old one still?) or the system itself.

the light stays on steady for about 5 minutes then it starts blinking. About twenty minutes later it still blinks. I tried starting it anyway and nothing.
I got the key from the dealer because I lost the original. The key turns fine but it doesn't start.
Is there a way to disconnect the the PATS?
