Default why is my low coolant light coming on

Hello

I was wondering why my low coolant light comes on, I have looked and looked and it seems my radiator is full and the catch tank is full too, where it should be. I was thinking of changing the thermostat to a 180 instead of the 195 factory one thats in it. What would the recommendations be for my 92 SSEI bonneville.

thanks

I had that problem with my 93. If everything looks fine then the coolent level sensor needs replacement.
