Default Tail light question

Hey, I just bought a set of SSEi tail lights from Craigmax and I'm dying to get them in my car. I know wilwren posted info about taking the lens assy apart to tint them.... The lens' I bought are in good shape but there are a couple of spots where the black border is faded (typical wear and tear). Is it possible to disassemble the lens and touch up the border with model paint?

first of all...you dont have to take them apart to tint em, tint sprays on the outside....just take em off the car...

2nd...what you are seeing is not fading, its delamination, where the plastic is separating from itself...i know of no way to fix it....

mine was pretty bad, but now that i tinted it, you cant even tell at all...

Wow! Those taillights look great! Did you use the same technique Bill described?

Huh, those pics do look good. I'm glad I asked..... I didn't know you could tint them on the outside. That makes life a lot easier. I do kinda agree with 1993 SLE, I like the look of the stock SSE/SSEi lights. The delamination isn't too bad on the lights I have. I'll let it ride for now and if it gets worse, I'll tint them. What is causing the delamination? is it the sun or is it water damage?

Could a heat gun, or something similar, be used to "relaminate"? :?
