here'* the "test" i did tonight

got in the car after work & started it, whine was present...turned the wheels....the whine bogged down with the engine {and you could also hear the different whine of the power steering, (not a bad whine though)} and then increased with the engine as the engine regained power after turning the wheel. So i shut the door and made my way down the road....then i got the idea to listen to the whine while driving. From a stop light, I listened to it through the gears..and its most audible in first and second, after third, you either can't hear it, or it goes away. After i got home while backing into the driveway i couldn't hear it, and then i put in drive once more and couldn't hear it, but then once i put it in park the whine came back again.

hope all that info helps in some way and thanks for the suggestions given so far.

edit: anyone think i could get a code out of this? i'm thinkin' of going by advance tomorrow and seeing if there are any
