Temperamental Bonneville?
So does anyone have the same problem as me.. or a way to check it out?
My car seems to run nearly perfectly except for a slight (sometimes nearly inaudible, sometimes a bit more pronounced) thudding that i beleive comes from the transmission while idling.
But my car seems like it has moods, somedays ill start the car and pull away and it feels like its VERY connected, light, and pretty quick. Ill have great acceleration.
Other days the car will feel like its kinda sluggish. The car feels pretty heavy and no acceleration.
It does not seem to be dependent on the weather i dont think. I cant tell if its the engine (it does not seem to be) because it feels like the trasmission is just absorbing all of the power.
No codes are thrown. And the last time i had a scanner plugged in there was no TCC slip (the engine doesnt over rev really or have a problem holding speed, just seems to have no acceleration)
Any ideas? I think the bonneville is supposed to be at the higher performance level but i dont know how to keep it there.

well... honestly never!
The car only had 38,900 miles on it when i got it and every time i check it the fluid still looks nice and red. But that would help out? (Im just over 71k now) (My dad is convinced that changing the trans fluid does nothing... i need arguments for that.)
Just another FYI:
I also have a shudder when it changes from first to second gear a majority of the time and my FSM was pointing to something like a cracked fin or something (cant remember its exact words, but i found the diagnosis for shudder only from 1-2) in the trans.

DSepending on driving conditions the trans fluid is supposed to go 50,000 or 100,000 miles... I could not let the fluid go 50,000 miles... By that time the fluid may still have its protecting properties, but the fluid will be oxodised, that can and will cause shudders between gears... <---- This is why I cange my fluid at least once a year... I let my fluid in my 95 go almost 2 years, I won't be doing that again..
If you have the original pan gasket on the car than I'd keep that gasket and just get a filter.. Change the fluid and I'll bet you'll notice a diffrence.. you'll need about 7 quarts of Dexron III... I just by the stuff by the case..
Good Luck
