32-35...best way to go

Would 35 be good though my tires max says 44? I know mileage also depends on tire pressure...so what would work best for that? Is 44 too high... :?

If im doing a run to town i'll pull 40 cuz I know that I mite be takin some turns...

It really depends on your driving habits! I drive constant highway, not city, therefore I keep them at max of 44 PSI for better cornering at higher speeds. My ride is much stiffer too though than most other SE'* I've found. If I was driving CITY, I would keep them at the door rate though, as the pot holes in the city are brutal on a PSI maxed out tire!

Please explain this to me. My former car was a 1989 Buick LeSabre and the recommended tire pressure for the 205/75/14 tire was 35 PSI. My present H-body is a 1991 Olds 88 with the same size tire and the recommended tire pressure is 30 PSI. I went to this site to verify this info.

Why would they lower the recommended tire pressure in 1991(for ALL the GM H-bodys)? If ANYTHING I would have expected a car manufacturer to RAISE the tire pressue because that would raise gas mileage ratings.

The Olds 88 is suppost to be a smother ride so they would lower the tire pressure to take some of the stress off the shocks. As for gas milage that won't change much unless they are under inflated once you get about 30psi in there it will stay about the same all the way to the max.

I was always under the impression that one should only run the tires at the PSI on the door sticker. But if that isn't necessarily the case would running the tire at a higher PSI (not over max mind you) help with shaking if the rim has a small dent/bend in the inside lip?

edit: Oh max on mine is 50PSI but I run at 32PSI as stated on door sticker.
