The solenoid is attached to the top of the starter. Starter and soleniod will come out at one chunk.

Also, the last I checked, parts stores do not sell the solenoid separately. A rebuilder is likely the only place that would have that, and would probably replace it during the rebuild.

This is the starter.. lookin in from front of car closer to driver side from center of car.. The solenoid is the one above with wires going to it.. the suppose to be silvery cylinder

3 1/2 hrs later she started up w/ no problems
i will have to say this was a pain in the ***
but its done..

Pull a motor, then tell me where the starter is on the 0-10 rating. If it was your first time...it'* understandable that it seems tough.. afterall.. I've done a ton of them and things seem much easier with practice.

So wat was the cause? Beat the motor? Solenoid?? Swear at it loudly ??
