I have no idea, it hasn't worked since i bought the car. I don't know if its the latch itself, the wiring, or the button, all i know is that i have to use the key :P

hmm, I am sure you probably know this already, but, the key has to be on and trans in park for it to work.

A friend of mine just got a '92 SE and thought it didn't work on his also, but I showed him that.

Also, if you find out what part is bad, let me know and I will hook you up

Glad to see you got it open. Once you replace your latch, check to see that your valet switch is not toggled on. That would keep your trunk popper from working.

Mine will pop whether there is a key in or not, just as long as its in park. Is this adjustable?

Valet Switch? Where is that?

Okay so i need help figuring out what to replace. The only way i can open the trunk is through the back seat and use my key in (i'm guessing its the emergency trunk release) on the inside of the trunk. But the key wont open it from the outside. It just turns inside the key slot and does nothing. Do i need to replace the actual latch or does the "key slot" need to be replaced?
Thanks!

oh and Ryan - yea i've tried with the car on/off, park, neutral, drive, reverse, key in accessory and it doesn't work

Location of your valet switch...

as far as trunk poppers go, mine works with the car on,off, key, no key. as long as the lock out switch in the trunk is not on. that switch keeps the popper from working unless the ignition key is in the on position.

roadtech, that is NOT a stock location for the valet switch, nor does the 92-95 have one

also the 92-95 trunk button only work when the car is on
