Default Weird noise, odd braking coming from front right wheel

Within the past week or two my car has been making a grinding/rubbing noise on the right side when making right turns. Today driving to work, it seemed to 'give out' and the noise became constant. Now when I brake, it seems to work then not work. Like I can still stop the car, but some times I have to push the pedal down further. A quick visual inspection showed no problems, but there was a smell from the right wheel that I couldn't describe. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Pull the wheel, and check the condition of the brake pads, and rotor. Be sure to check the back side too.

I will check when I get home, I am stuck at work right now. The pads are only a few months old, but I put them in myself, which may be part of the problem.

Some quick items to consider as you wait to leave work.

Stuck caliper from old brake hose with rubber coming apart inside.
Stuck caliper because it decided it was time.
Leaking brake fluid getting on disc.

What quality pads/rotors did you put on when they were done?

I didn't change the rotors. The pads are Duralast Semi Metallic. I took the wheel off on my lunch break, broke off a stud while doing so. Everything looked ok. I started the car and tried to drive. There was a heavy clunk with what seemed like every rotation of the wheel.

I had a friend look at it and he said I need to get a new hub. They have the whole assembly at AutoZone for $125. I hope that fixes it.

I got the car back today. My buddy that fixed it said he had to use a hub assembly from a 93 Bonneville because the 92 didn't fit. I did have a pretty bad accident on that side of the car and I had to get a lot of parts replaced with junker parts from different cars (ie control arm is from a Buick). Does it make sense that the hub wouldn't fit? Thanks.
