Default WATER PUMP LEAKS AGAIN!!!

ANY SUGGESTIONS APPRECIATED!!! A FRIEND OF MINE HAS A '92 BONNEVILLE WITH A 3800 IN IT, ABOUT A WEEK AGO I CHANGED THE WATER PUMP FOR HIM AGAIN, THE FIRST TIME I CHANGED IT ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO, HIS DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THE CAR ABOUT A MONTH AGO, AND IT GOT HOT/ NOT OVERHEATED, AND WAS LEAKING COOLANT SO AFTER LOOKING AT IT THE UPPER HOSE THAT GOES INTO THE BLOCK HAD A CRACKED PLASTIC FITTING, AFTER CAREFULLY REMOVING AND REPLACING THAT FITTING WITH A BRASS ONE, TEST DRIVE WENT FINE , NO LEAKS, WEEK LATER HE CALLS AND SAID ITS LEAKING AGAIN, THIS TURNS OUT TO BE THE WATER PUMP!!! CHANGED IT 8-7-2004, ALL PROPER AND SUCH!!!!! CHANGED THE THERMOSTAT TOO!! TEST DRIVE... NO LEAKS, HE CALLS TODAY 8-16-2004 AND SAYS ITS LEAKING AGAIN, BY THE WATER PUMP, I HAVE YET TO LOOK AND SEE EXACTLY WHERE THIS LEAK IS OCCURRING???? COULD A DEFECTIVE RADIATOR CAP CAUSE A WATER PUMP TO FAIL PREMATURELY???? OR AM I OVERLOOKING AN OBVIOUS SOLUTION???? MAN GUYS.... I'D APPRECIATE SOME HELP ON THIS ONE... THANKS.

Default zone

When I went to Auto Zone for my pump they showed me a rebuilt and it was junk so
I refused it. Then they pulled out a brand new one for $2 more and it looked good and
had a good bearing feel.
I installed it and it has been going fo 5 years now with a lifetime warranty.
Is the rebuilt the one you were referring to as junk or did I buy it?

Just a quick question; When you put the new pump on, did you put some sort of sealer on the bolts threads? They go right into the coolant, and will leak if not sealed. Just a suggestion.
